HOUSE UPDATES

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts is proud to support the local Ronald McDonald Houses in New Haven, Conn., and Springfield, Mass., through grants, quarterly donations and continuous collaboration.

The Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut is marking its 25th Anniversary this year! A wide variety of events will be held to promote all of the wonderful things the House continues to do to meet the needs of the families who stay there. The year began with a very special "Dancing Under the Stars" event at the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale. It was a wonderful success thanks to the generous support from Kids for Kids Dancing for Life, Eric Turcio and the Quinnipiac Ballroom Society, Let's Dance in Rhythm and the Alex Scott Ballroom Theatre. RMH of Connecticut looks forward to a year filled with events and activities that will help the House and its families grow and thrive. To learn more, visit www.rmh-ct.org.

The Ronald McDonald House of Springfield, MA proudly served 325 families in 2009. These families came from 7 countries, 12 U.S. states and 19 cities and towns in Massachusetts. All were in a time of crisis with a sick child, and they may not have found another place close to the hospital to stay. We are able to help these and other families due to the generosity of local businesses and individuals, as well as our own fundraising and grant writing efforts. In fact, our 2010 Gala held on February 6 was a great success, raising $60,000 and helping us come closer to our $300,000 fundraising goal to meet our annual budget. We thank you, one and all, for your on-going support of this great community asset! To learn more, visit www.ronmcdhouse.com
