We arrived in Springfield in 2008 with the help of Shriners Children’s Hospital through their Orthopedics Department to begin the necessary care for my son’s leg. First his leg had to be amputated and then replaced with a prosthesis followed by many months of therapy. This whole process took 3 months. That was exactly May 4, 2008 when we arrived to the hospital and a few days later they sent us to the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield where we stayed until August 4, 2008 while Arturo was given care.
Since that very moment the House became our second home, every year that my son Arturo has an appointment we are received at the House with open arms and for the whole time that we are being seen at Shriners.
Thank you to the Ronald McDonald House, especially the House Manager, Enix Zavala, that with so much care and love she receives us at the House and it feels like we are in our own home.
With much love and hugs,
Ana and Arturo
