Ana's Story

Ana's Story

Ana Valentina Lopez, a beautiful and energetic 9 year old from Ecuador, is receiving medical treatment and will be having surgery at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Springfield MA. Ana enjoys playing with baby dolls and sometimes pretends to be a Veterinarian, her dream job when she grows up. When Ana is home, she loves playing soccer and swimming with family and friends. She is the youngest of three and is the happiest when she is with her brothers and father. Ana and her mother Lizabeth will be staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield for about 2 months. Lizbeth shared the following about her experience here so far. “We enjoy our stay here at the Ronald McDonald House; it’s like being in a quiet house” Lizabeth continued “I also enjoy my daughter playing with the other children and building friendships that will last a lifetime”. The one thing that makes them feel homesick is not being near to their loved ones. When they start to feel that way Ana and Lizabeth both watch a Spanish TV show called Soy Luna. This show reminds them of home and makes Ana feel happy again, Lizbeth describes, “Seeing my daughter happy makes me happy”.
