Scholarships

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts awards a total of $50,000 to local high school seniors each academic year through its Scholarship Program.

Students of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with specific funds allocated for eligible Hispanic applicants via the RMHC/HACER (Hispanic American Commitment to Education Resources Program) Scholarship and additional dollars available for any student, regardless of race or ethnicity, via the RMHC Scholars Scholarship.

Hispanic applicants will also be eligible for RMHC/HACER National Scholarships with four $100,000 scholarships available to applicants from all 50 United States and the District of Columbia.

Eligibility Requirements for the RMHC Scholarship Program:

  • Be eligible to enroll in and attend a two- or four-year college with a full course study.
  • Reside in a participating area. (Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts awards to students residing in Connecticut - excluding Fairfield county, which is service by a different chapter - and Western Massachusetts - Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties only; other counties are serviced by a different RMHC chapter).
  • Additional eligibility requirement for the RMHC/HACER Scholarship: applicants must have at least one parent of Hispanic origin.

Scholarship applications are available each fall online at www.rmhc.org. Beginning November 11, 2011, students can apply for the 2011-2012 Scholarship Program in multiple ways:

Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. The deadline for the 2011-2012 Scholarship program is January 27, 2012.
