Ronald McDonald House of Springfield was built 33 years ago, and the wear and tear on the exterior of the building has caused severe deterioration of the siding, roof, gutters, and windows, to the point of needing full replacement. By addressing these repairs quickly, we are able to ensure that no family is turned away due to further deterioration of the House’s outer structure.
The outdoor space in the backyard requires replacement as the deterioration of the original playground required removal last fall. Our plan is to create an inviting space that includes a children's play area, a family activity section, and a pergola to provide shade. Outdoor fresh air space has a profound effect on the health and wellbeing of children and their families. It offers a chance for families to spend time together and enjoy shared experiences.
The combined $450,00 project will revitalize the House, ensure the longevity of our special home, and provide new and inviting spaces for families to find moments of outdoor fun, relaxation, and fresh air to support recovery.
Wrapping the house with updated, durable siding.
Installing a new roof to keep the house safe from the elements.
Installing energy efficient replacement windows and repairing windowsills.
Upgrading gutters and downspouts to prevent water damage.
Building an engaging outdoor play area for our youngest guests.
Adding a shaded pergola for families to enjoy the outdoors.
More than a fresh coat of paint, these renovations renew the promise of healing for countless families yet to walk through our doors. Your contribution gives the gift of comfort and care to children battling illness today, tomorrow, and for years to come.
